What is Faster 25 EC?

Faster 25 EC is a 1 litre termite control chemical formulated with Fipronil 2.5% EC, imported from the UK. It's used for pre-construction and post-construction termite treatment, as well as pre-treating raw wood.

What does "EC" mean?

EC stands for "Emulsifiable Concentrate" — a liquid concentrate formulation designed to be diluted in water (or, for wood treatment, sometimes kerosene oil) before application.

How is it different from Bayer Agenda?

Both products use Fipronil 2.5% as the active ingredient at the same concentration. The main practical differences buyers report are price and brand — always compare current pricing directly with sellers, since it changes over time.

What is the shelf life?

Unopened bottles are generally rated for around 5 years from the manufacture date printed on the label. Check your bottle's specific batch and expiry date.

Using the Product

How much area does one bottle cover?

Diluted at 1 litre in 250 litres of water and applied at the recommended rate, one bottle is intended to cover approximately 540 sq ft. Coverage can vary with soil type and application method — see our termite control guide for the full breakdown by job type.

Can I use it myself, or do I need a professional?

Smaller jobs — a room's worth of furniture, or a straightforward post-construction perimeter — are realistic for a careful DIYer following the label. Is it safe to use around my family?

Fipronil-based termiticides are registered for structural pest control, but require standard precautions: gloves, a mask, keeping children/pets away from wet treatment, and following label directions exactly. See our full safety guidance.

How soon will I see results?

Because Fipronil relies on termites transferring it to nestmates, colony-level effects typically build over one to a few weeks rather than appearing instantly. This is expected and is part of how the chemical is designed to work.

Do I need to reapply it later?

A correctly applied barrier is designed to last several years, but any digging near the foundation (for plumbing, cabling, extensions) can break the barrier at that spot and may need re-treatment.
